For example, if your business name is "Ultra Super Unique Company," you will need to file a DBA.
A Federal tax id is not a business license or a DBA.
However, you most likely need a dba Businesses if using a name other than the owner's name. If so, you are required to register a DBA / Fictitious Business Name Certificate. Note that you can incorporate or form an LLC instead of filing a DBA. If you are an LLC or Corporation you don't need a dba.
